Hi! Welcome to my blog! This is a space I share what I’ve learned over the 16 years as a single mom and share my experiences with escaping an abusive partner. A place to read all about ways to take care of yourself, find some fun family time ideas, learn tips and tricks on how to make this single parent thing a bit easier, and find articles that can help as you get through all that goes with escaping abuse and starting over. It’s meant to be a safe place for you to connect with other parents that are going through the same struggles and victories you are. A place to build a community of support with people that have experienced or are experiencing a similar situation to you. While being in this situation can be rough at times, there’s a lot of fun to be had, too. I’m so happy you are here.
Membership
Due to the sensitivity of some of the topics this blog talks about, many articles are only accessible with a membership and no commenting is available except for those articles in the membership section. This is done solely to protect everyone. It keeps a safe place to read, learn, and connect.
I’m sure there are some of you in similar situations to mine where stalking is an issue. This not only protects access to keep survivors safer, but it also makes it more difficult for abusers to access anything. It would be very easy to just keep making new email addresses or even changing IP addresses, so I do a small payment just to give extra security since it’s more difficult to hide your identity if you have to use a card to pay for something.
I know if my ex knew I was doing this (which is why I do not use my real name or any identifying information, especially while I’m still protected by a DVPO), he’d be stalking this page like crazy and commenting insane stuff, and I’m sure I’m not the only one that has an ex that would do this.
Knowing that, I would never comment anything or interact with others if I didn’t think it was safe, which is what this blog is supposed to be all about, finding safe support, encouragement from others dealing with the same things you are. If you do believe your ex is stalking you here, please reach out and let me know and everything that can be done to remove them will be done and if it violates a DVPO or other protection order, I will to provide all I legally can to help you with any violation documentation I can. Remember, I’m dealing with a crazy stalker myself, so no shame in asking for help, don’t be scared or embarrassed because I’m right there with you. I’m only here to help and support you.
Obviously, nothing is 100% but this is the best I can do to try to keep everyone as safe as possible; that’s also why the secure password is required, I understand it may be annoying but it’s for your safety. Please make sure to choose something your ex would never possibly guess to keep this safe place as safe as possible. I do know some of you may not have exes that would go to these measures but some do, so thank you for understanding that this is all put into place to protect everyone to the best of my ability. This is a space that is supposed to be fun, safe, and supportive.
